Boros Collection / Residence has received The International Architecture Award for 2009 by The Chicago Atheneum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
The International Architecture Awards are the highest and most prestigious distinguished building awards that honour new and cutting-edge design. The Jury was held in Helsinki, Finland.

Mies van de Rohe Award 2009
Boros Collection / Residence was nominated for The European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture. This award is granted every two years by the European Union and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe, Barcelona, to acknowledge and reward quality architectural production in Europe.

„Architektonischer Höhepunkt ist jedoch das oben aufgesetzte Penthouse mit zusätzlichen Ausstellungs- und Wohnräumen
und weiten Ausblicken. Es entwickelt sich als Raumkontinuum aus dem Bunker heraus und wird vom Besucher, der den
Bau von unten nach oben durchwandert, als befreiendes Ziel empfunden. Dabei entsteht der Eindruck, als sei die kompromisslos
moderne, nüchterne Architektursprache des Dachaufbaus ganz logisch und selbstverständlich aus der Struktur des Betonbunkers
entwickelt worden. Die seltene, aber umso wichtigere Bauaufgabe ist mit viel Gefühl für die vorgefundene Bausubstanz und der angemessenen
formalen Zurückhaltung gelöst worden.“
